WordCamp Fraser Valley 2009 to school bloggers in WordPress at SFU Surrey

The second annual WordCamp Fraser Valley is coming to Simon Fraser University's Surrey campus on August 22.

WordCamps are conferences that focus on the use of WordPress, a popular open-source blogging platform.

This year's event offers four tracks: beginner, intermediate, development, and Twitter.

Confirmed speakers for the beginner track include bloggers Rebecca Bollwitt, Glenda Hyatt, and Raul Pacheco.

The intermediate track will feature Lorraine Murphy and Dave Zille.

For developers, the development track promises talks by John Biehler, Kulpreet Singh, and George Plumley.

Gary Jones and Rainer Schmoll will present sessions in the Twitter track, which is for people who want to learn more about the microblogging service.

Registration costs $25 per track or $75 for all tracks, and is available on the conference Web site.

Last year's WordCamp Fraser Valley took place in July at Cascades Casino in Langley.

In January, the first-ever WordCamp Whistler saw WordPress bloggers gather at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler Resort.
