Council to vote on contract for Burnaby Mountain Golf Course driving range

On Monday (September 14), Burnaby council will vote on a staff recommendation to award a $3.1-million contract to a division of Ledcor Construction to build a new driving range at Burnaby Mountain Golf Course.

The existing driving range was built in 1970 and includes 22 covered  bays and 14 uncovered bays, according to a city manager's report going to council.

Because of its age and the deterioration of the facility, council decided in July to build a new driving range on-site.

According to the city manager's  report, five bids were submitted. The figures include five percent GST:

Ledcor Special Projects: $3,094,350

Smith Bros.  & Wilson (BC) Ltd.: $3,158,324

Olivit Construction Ltd.: $3,197,250

D.G.S. Construction Company Ltd.: $3,307,500

PCL Constructors Inc.: $3,465,000

I used to work there. Its still pretty nice and doesn't need an upgrade. The money should be spent on environmental protection.
