Dan Mangan wins XM Verge award

Recent Georgia Straight cover boy Dan Mangan has been named The Verge's artist of the year.

According to a news release sent out this morning by the Toronto-based XM Satellite Radio station The Verge, Vancouver singer-songwriter Mangan will be awarded $25,000, intended to help fund his future projects and to aid his growth as a musician.

Toronto's Alexisonfire received album-of-the-year honours (and a cheque for the same amount) for its Old Crows/Young Cardinals release.
