Geek of the Week: TransitDB

    1 of 1 2 of 1

Not finding the transit information you want on TransLink’s Web site?

Try TransitDB, a site that makes it easy to see which stops are near you and when buses are leaving from them.

Developed by Carson Lam, a 20-year-old computer-science student at the University of British Columbia, TransitDB offers a lot of features that TransLink and Google Maps don’t.

The site, which launched in June, also lets you create customized timetables and view a bus route and all of its stops on a map.

Plus, you can bookmark your results.

TransitDB does lack a trip planner, but Lam told the Straight it’s in the works.

He also plans to make an iPhone application.
