North Vancouver’s Lauren Woolstencroft wins fifth gold of 2010 Paralympics

      North Vancouver’s Lauren Woolstencroft has scored her fifth gold medal of the 2010 Paralympic Winter Games.

      Today (March 20) at Whistler Creekside, the 28-year-old alpine skier racked up her latest first-place finish in the women's standing super combined, an event which includes races in super-G and slalom.

      Vancouver’s Karolina Wisniewska took the bronze medal in the event.

      Solene Jambaque of France got the silver.

      Woolstencroft previously won gold medals in the standing super-G, downhill, giant slalom, and slalom at the 2010 Games.

      With these wins, Canada now has 17 medals, including eight golds, at the 2010 Paralympics.
