Premier Gordon Campbell attends Bilderberg 2010 meeting

Numerous Web sites have published a list of delegates attending the Bilderberg 2010 conference in Spain between June 3 and June 6.

It's an annual invitation-only meeting of some of the world's most influential leaders in government, banking, business, and the media.

The Bilderberg conference has attracted the interest of conspiracy theorists, in part because of its secrecy.

The list includes the usual heavyweights, such as Bill Gates, Google CEO Eric Schmidt, Richard Holbrooke (President Barack Obama's special representative to Afghanistan and Pakistan), Henry Kissinger, former U.S. Federal Reserve chief Paul Volcker, Obama's top economic adviser Lawrence Summers, former U.S. treasury secretary Robert Rubin, and Richard Perle, a U.S. neocon best known as a chief cheerleader of the 2003 attack on Iraq.

The are also a couple of surprising Canadian names on the list: B.C. premier Gordon Campbell and CBC chief correspondent Peter Mansbridge.

"Bilderberg's only activity is its annual Conference," states a news release on the Bilderberg site. "At the meetings, no resolutions are proposed, no votes taken, and no policy statements issued. Since 1954, fifty-seven conferences have been held. The names of the participants are made available to the press. Participants are chosen for their experience, their knowledge, and their standing; all participants attend Bilderberg in a private and not an official capacity."

Development economist Dambisa Moyo, who is a fierce critic of international aid for Africa, is also among the attendees, along with numerous corporate chiefs.

Will be interesting to see if Mansbridge will report on the goings on.

What the list doesn't include is the fact that Gordon Campbell has been asked to re-create the role of World famous clown Emmett Kelly -- a sort of sentimental statement reflecting the desire of optimal world corporatism --and how easily this can flourish under lapdog leadership like Gordon Campbell's. Mr. Mansbridge must be along to take notes --- big ass floppy shoes -- check; big red rubber nose -- check

So if there is nothing to worry about why is it such a secret? why is there no coverage of this and why is their agenda so secretive.. give it up, the jig is up, we know!!

The council of the New World Order, with Gordon Campbell in attendance? Was screwing over British Columbians an initiation test? or a character and phyc test?

The Georgia Straight should interview Mr. Campbell and confirm if he did indeed go to Bilderberg and if he did what was discussed and why no media is allowed in the conference.

Thanks Andrew. It is on the Bilderberg site. I didn't find this while writing this over the weekend. I've adjusted the article to reflect your point.

Is the attendance of Premier Gordon M. Campbell in any way connected to the provincial carbon tax? Did environmental NGOs strongly recommend that he be invited because of this policy?

Nice to see so many Canadians on the list. Clearly we play an important part in world affairs. Why they chose Campbell is of less importance than the fact that the Premier of BC was invited.
