City of North Vancouver will confer "Freedom of the City" on Paralympian Lauren Woolstencroft

      On Monday (June 14), North Vancouver resident Lauren Woolstencroft will be honoured at the 7 p.m. City of North Vancouver council meeting.

      Woolstencroft, the star of the 2010 Paralympics, will receive a "Freedom of the City" designation at a presentation at 7 p.m. in the council chamber.

      The 28-year-old B.C. Hydro electrical engineer won five gold medals earlier this year, setting a Paralympic record. In the last three Paralympic Games, she has won eight gold medals, one silver, and one bronze.

      Previous honourees of Freedom of the City include former councillor John Braithewaite and former mayor Jack Loucks.
