National Ballet of Canada dancer Chan Hon Goh to direct Vancouver's Goh Ballet Academy

National Ballet of Canada dancer Chan Hon Goh is leaving the stage to return to Vancouver this September to become director of the Goh Ballet Academy and Goh Ballet Youth Company.

Goh, who has danced the leads in everything from Swan Lake to Sleeping Beauty, began her own ballet training at the academy as a child. Her parents, Choo Chiat Goh and Lin Yee Goh, founded the school 32 years ago.

Goh’s plans for the Goh Ballet include establishing the Chan Hon Goh Scholarship Fund, which will award $100,000 to promising students a the facility each academic year, and executive producing the school's annual rendition of The Nutcracker, which features dancers from the National Ballet.
