Photos: Hiking Black Tusk in Garibaldi Provincial Park

If any part of British Columbia justifies its "The Best Place on Earth" advertising slogan, it is Garibaldi Provincial Park, specifically the area around Black Tusk and Garibaldi Lake.

The hike up Black Tusk is one of the classics.

From the Rubble Creek trailhead—off the Sea to Sky Highway south of Whistler—it can be done as a long day hike or an overnighter via one of the campgrounds at Taylor Meadows and Garibaldi Lake.

Here's what Black Tusk and its surroundings looked like last weekend (September 18 and 19).

Beautiful pics, thanks Georgia Straight. Lucky that the whiskeyjack didn't steal your camera! Rotten things. It was sensible not to climb the chimney, the rock there was treacherously friable twenty years ago.
