Mounties look for suspected arsonist who tried to set fire to RCMP detachment

The RCMP is investigating an attempt to set fire to its Queen Charlotte detachment.

The Mounties issued a statement this weekend saying an unknown suspect was interrupted by an on-duty cell guard after he broke a window in the building.

The man, who is described as six feet and wearing a toque with a matching sweater, left behind a jug of gasoline and a marine-type flare.

The building is shared with the B.C. Ambulance Service.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Queen Charlotte Detachment at (250) 559-4421 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

I'm sorry, but as long as officers are investigated by other officers and criminal cops get leave with pay, I'm not going to condemn any physical action taken against the police forces of our country, nor assist in finding someone who stands up to them.

End leave with pay for criminal cops and I might start to care.

This article is little more than a crime stoppers ad.
Shouldn't journalism be probing the possible motivations for such actions?
As it is this article demonstrates more than anything how the lines between reporting and advertisement are blurred.
