B.C. Liberal leadership race goes mobile with Kevin Falcon iPhone app

The race to replace B.C. premier Gordon Campbell has gone mobile.

Kevin Falcon launched today (December 21) an iPhone application as part of his campaign to become the new leader of the B.C. Liberal Party and the province’s next premier.

Falcon is the first B.C. Liberal leadership candidate to put out a mobile app.

The free, 9.3-megabyte iPhone app offers news and event information from the campaign, and ways to get in touch with Falcon’s team.

“Downloading this app is your chance to join me and be a part of the new generation of leadership for British Columbia,” reads the app’s iTunes description. “Download the app and run your own virtual campaign and engage the membership to vote for me.”

Falcon’s app was developed by Purple Forge, which has offices in Ogdensburg, New York; Ottawa; and other cities.

Purple Forge has made apps for the City of Victoria, Ottawa councillor Michel Bellemare, and Republican candidate Meg Whitman, who lost November’s California gubernatorial election to Democrat Jerry Brown.

I don't think I'd like to see stupidity every day on my phone. This photo of him here makes my stomach turn!

I'm already sick of his "new generation" slogan. Am I supposed to buy that this generic wind-bag is some kind of hip new fresh breath of air?

      The agony.

How appropriate to have the words, "Kevin Falcon" and "launched" in the same sentence....

Wonder how many others have looked at his smug mug and felt the urge to launch something?

      Another good reason...

      ...to throw out your iphone.

      "i" stands for IDIOT.

Next thing you know he'll be offering air miles rewards for voters.
This kind of gimmicky cheapness crystalizes what the liberal party is about.

Glad to read that all of you who have commented so far are as intellectual as a rock. If you could holster your hatred you might actually see a candidate that is trying something different so that they might be able to reach out to voters beyond the traditional media (which we all know is biased). You may not agree with his views, or how he looks, but you have to admire his ability to get his message out. Not a bad picture from my perspective and I do like his message. Shame you guys don't cause he will win....

I have to admire his ability to get his message out? Say, that's some pretty good substance-free boilerplate there as well, John. Maybe Falcon has a Twitter account too. That would be awesome and would totally sway me over to digging his new generation.

So Kevin Falcon if your so mobile, what is your plan to address the overpaid salaries of govt departments, crown corporations and bc government agencies, lik bcsc, this woman is not worth $500,000 let alone $100,000 I would only pay her $75000.00 max
