Almost Johnny Cash’s Big River at the Shark Club

    1 of 1 2 of 1

What’s funny about Johnny Cash is that no one ever talks about the various stages of his career they way they do about Elvis’s. There’s no young-gun Johnny Cash, ’70s-TV-star Johnny Cash, and old-man-with-a-potato-for-a-nose Johnny Cash. Perhaps that’s because the Man in Black was so totally bad-ass from birth to death that poking fun at his legacy would be nothing short of sacrilege. Cash deserves nothing but respect, and on that note, the word on the street is that there are few things more respectful of his legacy than Almost Johnny Cash’s Big River, at the Shark Club downtown on Friday (January 28). Assuming you never did time in Folsom Prison, chances are good that you never got the chance to sing along to “I Walk the Line”, “Ring of Fire”, or “A Boy Named Sue”. That means that Big River is as close as you’re going to get to the real deal—until, that is, you get to heaven, where you’ll spend every day doing bourbon shots not only with Johnny but with June, probably while singing “Don’t Take Your Guns to Town”.

This show is absolutely amazing. It's like a time warp back to see Johnny in his prime. You won't be dissapointed.
