Anna Di Carlo: Marxist-Leninist Party of Canada works to empower the people

The Marxist-Leninist party’s vision of Canada is one where all people are able to decide what kind of society they want to live in. They could decide the direction of the economy and participate in the democratic process so as to exercise control over their lives. Today, this is not possible. We have a cartel party system that actually deprives the people of their ability to decide things.

Our issue of concern

Because of the current political set-up, it doesn’t matter which vision the MLPC or any other organizations or individuals have. The agendas and visions that prevail are those of the parasites that dominate the economy and political domain.

All aspects of political, economic, and social life in Canada need renewal and this happens as people take control of the situation, as in No Means No!

If Canadians don’t solve the problem of how to put themselves in control of the decision-making process, nation-wrecking will continue apace and the rotten climate of fending for oneself as a result of the destruction of the public domain will cause even more disasters. We need reforms that address this central problem. The political parties of the establishment do not want to abandon their positions of privilege and power.

Take the example of the efforts of the people in B.C. to win some democratic reforms. Two decades ago this October, they voted in a referendum in favour of the right to recall and the right to initiate legislation, with a majority of 81.2 percent. When the time finally came for the political parties to pass the required legislation, people across the country and of course in B.C. were shocked to see the onerous conditions put in place by the political parties to obstruct the exercise of these two political mechanisms by the people.

A similar experience was encountered following the 2004 citizens’ assembly. The referendum for the STV system, which would have minimally weakened party control over candidate selection, was sabotaged. Held in conjunction with the provincial election where all the resources were in the hands of the establishment parties, a legitimate expression of the popular will was made impossible. This experience confirmed how these parties obstruct the movement for empowerment.

Why the MLPC deserves your vote

The MLPC candidates in British Columbia deserve your vote because they work to empower Canadians. Year-round they fight for the rights of the people to be provided with a guarantee, including the right to health care, education, and security in retirement. They oppose the plunder of our resources such as the export of raw logs, and the privatization of health care, education, and other services in the public domain, such as the post office. They stand against the destruction of manufacturing jobs and the environment, the criminalization of First Nations, women, and youth, et cetera, and for the recognition of the hereditary rights of the First Nations. They also oppose the use of force to settle conflicts internationally, the use of torture, indefinite detentions, secret prisons, and so on.

Come elections, Canadians are supposed to give up their demands and choose one of the so-called major parties to represent them. This is not acceptable. Parties such as ours actually represent mainstream public opinion, but we are called “fringe” and “extremist”, terms that actually apply to the likes of Harper, Ignatieff, et al.

The MLPC calls on Canadians to work together for democratic renewal and to create an antiwar government.

Anna Di Carlo is the leader of the Marxist-Leninist Party of Canada.

Marxism has proven itself to be an absolute disaster for the human race over the last 100 years. Possibly the worst of all isms.

And the people who follow such philosophy and political views? Normally well-meaning but misguided. But sometimes disenfranchised Machiavellian. In either case, a sad bunch.

Capitalism has proven itself to be an absolute disaster for the human race over the last 100 years. Possibly the worst of all isms., except for maybe, you know, "Pessimism" - but I digress...

And the people who follow such philosophy and political views? Normally well-meaning, deeply fearful slaves afraid of taking control over their existence, but otherwise, patently clueless. Like folks who'd say something like, oh, I dunno, "disenfranchised Machiavellian".
In either case, a sad bunch of "whipped by capital" scaredy cats ("Whu-chi!"). Mee-ow!

Give the Marxist-Leninist Party of Canada a go. Caputalists have driven everyone else into the ground and are still raping and pillaging every population and economy under the flag of prosperity.

REPRESSION, GULAGS, MURDER AND TERROR. THE MURDER OF MORE THAN 100,000,000 MEN, WOMEN, AND CHILDREN IS EVIDENCE ENOUGH OF THE DECEPTIONS PERPETRATED BY THE MARXIST-LENINIST -- PERFECTLY ILLUSTRATED BY V.L. LENIN'S OPERATION TRUST. BUT OVER 65,000,000 REFUGEES HAVE ALSO FLED FROM LENINIST-MARXIST IDEOLOGY TO CAPITALIST COUNTRIES. IT IS A LIE TO SAY THAT THE MARXIST "VISION" IS ONE WHERE "ALL PEOPLE ARE ABLE TO DECIDE WHAT KIND IF SOCIETY THEY WANT LIVE IN." FOR THE DECEPTIVE HEGELIAN-DIALECTIC CONSENSUS PROCESS, OR "SOVIET," IS A FACILITATED PROCESS WHERE A DIVERSE GROUP OF PEOPLE DIALOGUE A SOCIAL ISSUE TOWARD A PREDETERMINED OUTCOME(DECIDED BY THE ELITES). NO LESS EVIDENCE IS THE INTOLERANCE OF MARXIST-LENINISTS OF CHRIST BELIEVERS OR CRITICS OF MARXIST LENINIST REGIMES. SUMMED UP IN THE SINGLE SENTENCE: ABOLITION OF PRIVATE PROPERTY. AND THE EXTERMINATION OF ALL LIVES WHO HOLD TITLE TO IT.

Bruce, take a deep breath. Anna is not calling for the murder of all land-holders, and it isn't 1917.

Yes there were refugees from states which have called themselves "Marxist". There have also been millions of people in "capitalist" countries who've been worked to death or died homeless and unemployed. Don't be selectively ignorant by assuming that one system is totally good, the other totally bad.

Modern Marxists are all - with VERY few exceptions - deeply democratic people, who believe we need a fairer, more sustainable economic system - and one which is more compatible with real democracy (capitalism really is not!).
The horrors committed by Stalin et. al. are just as remote from what Marxists want as the horrors committed by dictators of capitalist states are remote from what you want. (Although, from your rhetoric, it sounds possible that you'd justify killing people just for carrying the 'Marxist' label. perhaps the reason you fear them is that you're projecting your own intolerance and bloodthirstiness onto them. Not all people are like you, though.)

I'm voting strategically in this election, but the MLP should know there are many who would vote for them IF we ever do get proportional representation. The federal NDP does at least claim to support PR.

YOU CANNOT DISTANCE MARXIST-LENNINISM FROM THE CRIMES OF STALIN, AS DECEPTION AND THE IDEOLOGY ARE INSEPARABLE.

The people who are bashing Capitalism must realize we don't have true capitalism. Our government provides corporate welfare and in a true capitalist society, the government can't be a nanny to anyone.
