North Mississippi Allstars do perfect job of opening for Robert Plant in Vancouver

The North Mississippi Allstars just finished a perfect little opening set for Robert Plant.

They didn't have a bassist—it was just singer-guitarist Luther Dickinson and his brother Cody on drums and electric washboard, laying down the Mississippi hill country blues at it's stomping, raw best.

R.L. Burnside would have approved.

Georgia Straight music writer Steve Newton is posting items of interest from tonight's (April 17) Robert Plant and the Band of Joy concert at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Vancouver. Check out the full review tomorrow at www.straight.com/music.
