The Pointed Sticks play a benefit for the Red Cross Japan Relief Fund

The Pointed Sticks have good reason to love Japan. It was the Sticks’ Japanese fans who convinced the Vancouver first-wave punk band to get back together in 2006 after a 25-year hiatus. The group has since toured the island nation twice, and released a single called “My Japanese Fan” in ’07. So it’s only natural that the Pointed Sticks would be eager to come to the aid of the country which—for the benefit of anyone who has spent the past few months holed up in Abbottabad—has been hammered by earthquakes, a tsunami, and a nuclear crisis. The band will play a benefit for the Red Cross Japan Relief Fund at Venue next Thursday (May 12). Also lending a hand are SNFU, the Bonitos, the Jolts, the Trespassers, White Lung, and, according to the poster, “More!”. And who doesn’t love more?
