Bomb threat intrudes on the global elite's Bilderberg meeting

Those Bilderbergers who rule the world are meeting with an even greater degree of secrecy this week.

That's because of a reported bomb threat at this year's conference of the global elite, which opened today in St. Moritz, Switzerland.

Aaron Dykes of the conspiracy-minded Infowars.com site describes what happened at the conference.

The official website lists two Canadians on the steering committee: TD Financial Group president and CEO Edmund Clark and Indigo Books & Music Inc. chair and CEO Heather Reisman.

Last year, then-B.C. premier Gordon Campbell was invited to the private conference in Sitges, Spain, for which he billed B.C. taxpayers $16,000 for airfare.

This enabled him to break bread with Henry Kissinger, Bill Gates, Google CEO Eric Schmidt, and former U.S. Federal Reserve chair Paul Volcker, as well as numerous other titans of the corporate and political world.

Given Campbell's diminished political status, it's hard to imagine that he would have been invited back this year.

Meanwhile, a professor of international management development at Cranfield University, Andrew Kakabadse, coauthored a new book called Bilderberg People, which assesses the significance of the annual meetings that began in 1954.

Kakabadse recently told CNBC that the greatest anxiety is among those who are invited once, but not asked to return.

      Poor Gordo.

He can take solace in winning the corporatist consolation prize: on June 15, Campbell will speak at a Fraser Institute dinner at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver.

He'll be introduced by arch right winger and former Ontario premier Mike Harris, now the chairman of the auto-parts giant Magna.

Maybe the old duffer can give some common-sense tips on how to get onto corporate boards.

Perhaps Campbell should come clean, show a bit of accountability, and fill us in on what was discussed last year at Bilderberg and why he was invited. His bill was footed by BC taxpayers after all.
It's great to see The Straight following the developments in St. Moritz. The Bilderbergers are likely discussing who will replace Dominique Strauss-Kahn at the IMF, expanding the war in Libya, the future of the Internet and alternative media. Is Hillary Clinton in attendance? When the world's most powerful bankers, politicians and industrialists come together in secret, the results will only benefit the elite; that's Wall Street and not Main Street.

Although corporations do have a place in a working society, they really should not be able to hold power over the people. Gordon should have protected the people of BC from foreign ownerships instead of giving our land, resources and dignity away.

We need to loosen the global grip on B.C.and start buying locally. It's our only hope when the U.S. and E.U. economies come crashing down. Conspiracy or not, call it what you want Bilderberg is the persuasion towards a one world economy and currency.

There was no bomb threat. It was to throw us off.
