Hacked NBC News account tweets fake Ground Zero attack

Despite a supposedly "credible but unconfirmed" threat, the 10th-anniversary edition of 9/11 isn't upon us.

You see, you can't believe everything put on Twitter by NBC News.

Especially when the news network's Twitter account has been hijacked by hackers calling themselves "The Script Kiddies".

(In hacking lingo, script kiddie is a term used to insult less-skilled hackers who use tools developed by others to attack computer networks.)

The hacked tweets got the hashtag #groundzeroattacked going, but a quick search shows many Twitter users appear not to have been fooled.

Shortly after I captured the above screenshot, Twitter suspended both the @NBCNews and @s_kiddies accounts.
