Thierry's many macaron flavours could satisfy any mood you're in

It’s a pleasure just to browse at the new, jewel-box patisserie that is Thierry (1059 Alberni). The glistening fruit tarts, chocolate-glazed opera cakes, and ribbon-wrapped tiramisu dazzle on the marble countertop in a sweet display that rivals any in Paris. Macaron connoisseurs can choose from a range of bright options, with the cheery pink raspberry and Kermit-green chocolate pistachio jumping out. While it may not be the prettiest in the case, the tan Gianduja macaron ($1.75 each) is deliciously creamy and chewy at once, with a hazelnut and almond flavour the shop assistant described as “like Nutella, but way better”. Indeed.
