Vancouver Fashion Week spring/summer 2013 highlights Korean designers

      Vancouver Fashion Week will showcase spring/summer 2013 collections by local and international designers from Tuesday to Sunday (September 18 to 23) at the Chinese Cultural Centre (50 East Pender Street). This year, VFW will feature more than 45 designers from Canada, the U.S., Germany, Japan, Brazil, Mexico, the UK, Korea, and Uganda in 44 runway shows.

      Following an opening gala at FiveSixty (560 Seymour Street) Tuesday (September 18) at 8 p.m., runway shows will kick off on Wednesday at 5 p.m. and run until Sunday at 8:30 p.m.

      One of the highlights of this fall’s VFW is a Korean cultural fashion show taking place Saturday (September 22) at 7 p.m. VFW is partnering with the Vancouver Consulate General of the Republic of Korea to celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Canada and Korea. The fashion show will feature traditional Korean dress and a preview of 2013 Seoul Fashion Week.

      Designers and labels included in VFW include AngelEye, aptform by Michail Gkinis, Belolem, Chandrani Siingh Fllora, Charmed, Daniela Villa, De Ocampo, elik + afsi, George Bezhanishvili, Gert-Johan Coetzee, Gianni Maanaki, Ginger Martini, Goldie London, Gretchen Jones, Heiress Swimwear, Hive Mind Millinery, Ivan Yiu, Jessica L Huang, JEG Designs, Kas Wear, KoH T, Lava Woman, Maggπ, Mia Melon, Mislaid Pieces, Niki Kavakonis Designs, Nikki Babie, Pingh, Pola Thomson, Qube, Sentimongla Aier, Sir.Stan Studio, SK Fashions Vancouver, SODDI, Sofia Palmero, Synikal, Tartelette, Tass Fashion, Theresa Chen Collection, Tramp In Disguise, TrunkShow by Misty Greer, Xsenia & Olya, and Y!D.N.A. Collection.

      Tickets to VFW can be purchased online in advance, and day passes start at $75.
