Race at Studio 16

You just know that when you put the name David Mamet together with a play called Race, there are going to be fireworks. And that’s just what should happen as Mitch and Murray Productions, in association with Rooted Theatre Productions, presents a rendition of the playwright’s controversial work about two lawyers (one Caucasian, one African-American) who find themselves defending a wealthy white executive charged with raping a black woman. Sex, power, media: they’re all part of this provocative stew. A word of advice: leave political correctness at home. Race runs from Thursday (November 15) to December 1 at Studio 16.
