Artists from Coast Mental Health show their stuff

Coast Mental Health Resource Centre is showcasing artwork created by clients who are recovering from mental illness.

The art show and sale kicks off on Thursday, May 31, at a reception from 6 to 9 p.m. and runs until June 8 at Coast (1225 Seymour Street).

Coast Mental Health Resource Centre is a cooperative community that works to create a barrier-free, safe, and accepting environment where people with mental illnesses have the chance to build human connections, become self-sufficient, and discover their strengths and talents.

Coast has worked in the Downtown South/West End neighbourhoods since 1993 to provide community mental-health support to those with a serious mental illness.

Proceeds from the sale of paintings, sketches, mixed-media pieces, photography, and sculpture will go directly to artists who are members of Coast.
