With office-party season officially here, making sure your liver is fine-tuned for optimum performance has never been more important. Get in that last bit of tweaking by heading out to the clubs and asking for one of the following drinks, recommended by the people who lovingly pour them.

      Drunkin Duncan, Metropole Pub
      The drink:
      Inferno Bomb
The contents: One-half ounce Jí¤germeister, one-half ounce absinthe, lit on fire and dropped into Red Bull
Word from the bartender: “We light all the shot glasses on fire and line them up on the bar in S formations, then we try to hit the first glass with a lime and it falls like dominoes. Also, absinthe gives off a blue-coloured flame; it looks really cool when the lights are low and there are 15 or 16 drinks lined up in a row.”

      Linda adams, Iguana’s Beach Grill
      The drink:
      Surfer on Acid
The contents: One ounce Jí¤germeister, one ounce Malibu rum, pineapple juice, and cranberry juice
Word from the bartender: “It’s got a really good blend of flavours, and Jí¤germeister is really popular right now.”

      Graeme Scott, Shark Club
      The drink:
      Shark Attack Martini
The contents: Smirnoff vodka with Alizé, a little cranberry juice, and pineapple juice
Word from the bartender: “It goes down pretty smooth—it’s sweet and it’s not a very harsh drink.”

      Wade Quinney, Yagger’s
      The drink:
      Killer Bee
The contents: Jí¤germeister topped with Bí¤renjí¤ger
Word from the bartender: “When you layer it, it’s yellow and black so it looks like a bee.”

      Dave Quinlan, Doolin’s Irish Pub
      The drink:
      Irish Death Charge
The contents: One-third glass of Guinness, one-half shot of Jameson, and one-half shot of Baileys
Word from the bartender: “It contains three of the best Irish products. It’s becoming popular and connected to Ireland because it’s called the Irish Death Charge, and it has all the Irish ingredients in it.”
