The Georgia Straight presents Music for the Winter Solstice

      On December 14 and 15, Music for the Winter Solstice takes place at Heritage Hall (3102 Main Street).

      Presented by Music on Main, the concerts willl celebrate the winter season with warm tidings and luminous music featuring Music on Main’s composer in residence Nicole Lizée, pianist Rachel Kiyo Iwaasa, violinist and vocalist Wallgrin, and vocalist Carman J. Price.

      Nicole Lizée is a JUNO-nominated composer and video artist known for creating new music and video from an eclectic mix of influences, while Rachel Kiyo Iwaasa has performed her bold and innovative music around the world.

      Wallgrin is the experimental art-pop solo project of composer, musician, and performer Tegan Wahlgren, while tenor Carman J. Price has performed with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, musica intima, and the Vancouver Chamber Choir.

      The concerts are schedule to begin at 8 p.m., while the bar will open at 7 p.m.

      Tickets for Music for the Winter Solstice are $39 and $15 and are available online.
