Singers and musicians from Japan, Korea, the U.S., and Canada will join the two critically acclaimed stars of L'Elisir d'Amore in a Vancouver Opera fundraising concert this Tuesday night  (January 23).

Voices of the Pacific Rim features China's Ying Fang and Ontario's Andrew Haji in a show that juxtaposes western opera arias alongside pieces in each singer's native language.

Joining them in the concert will be Japanese baritone Kei Yonashiro, Kwagiulth and Stó:lo First Nations mezzo-soprano Marion Newman, Korean, Californian-born violinist Hannah Chung,

As an unexpected treat, the program also features two local musical prodigies: award-winning nine-year-old piano star Xinyi Wang, and only a few years older, grade-six Chinese-Canadian cello talent Eileen Tian.

A cocktail reception follows the event and is included in the ticket price.

Tickets for the fundraiser are available here.
