Ballet BC has cancelled its February 24 matinee for Romeo + Juliet, instead adding a new "boutique preview" performance with limited seating on February 21. Demand has reportedly been strong for the evening shows.

Opening night will remain Thursday, February 22, with evening performances running through to February 24.

Parisian choreographer Medhi Walerski, who created the Ballet BC favourite Petite Cérémonie a few years ago, is crafting a contemporary new take on the story of star-crossed lovers.

Ballet BC standouts Emily Chessa and Brandon Alley will be dancing the lead roles.
