      From February 15 to March 15, the 18th annual Chutzpah! Festival Dance Series takes place at the Norman Rothstein Theatre and the Scotiabank Dance Centre.

      An eagerly anticipated and annual highlight of Metro Vancouver's dance season, the Chutzpah! Festival Dance Series showcases work by internationally sought-after contemporary choreographers.

      Israeli company Roy Assaf Dance makes its Chutzpah! debut with a program of nuanced works (Six Years Later and The Hill), while Ezralow Dance presents the Canadian premiere of Open and Michele Merola's MM Contemporary Dance performs the North American premiere of inventive and provocative choreographies of classic musical scores (Ravel's Bolero and Stravinski's The Rite of Spring).

      The Chutzpah! International Cultural Exchange features Israeli dance compay Machal Shalem Dance House in Black Label and Bulgarian dance ensemble Derida Company in F 63.9.

      Also presented is the world premiere of Salomé: Woman of Valor, a multidisciplinary show created by Klezmatics bandleader Frank London and Canadian poet and performance artist Adeena Karasick.
