On March 15 at 7 p.m., the City of Richmond presents Social Impact Through Design: How Curiosity Transformed Our Practice, a talk by Michael Henderson of HCMA Architecture + Design. The event is part of the Lulu Series: Art in the City, and will take place at Richmond City Hall (6911 No. 3 Road). Henderson's talk will be preceded by a short performance by harpist Janelle Nadeau, who performs Celtic, Spanish, and popular music alongside her own compositions.

HCMA Architecture + Design's Michael Henderson will discuss how outside-the-box approaches to collaboration and engagement allow his firm to achieve positive social impact through design. HCMA challenges the traditional boundaries of architectural practice by hosting community-building events, including TILT City, CreativeMornings, HCMA Days, and Interesting Vancouver.

Henderson is responsible for leading some of HCMA’s largest sports, recreation, and community facilities projects in Canada, including Richmond’s Minoru Centre for Active Living, which opens later this year.

Admission is free but seating is limited; RSVP to lulu@richmond.ca. For more information, see the City of Richmond website.
