      From April 3 to 8,  Sound of Dragon Music Festival presents a series of concerts and workshops at the Annex (823 Seymour Street), the Roundhouse (181 Roundhouse Mews), and SFU Harbour Centre (515 West Hastings Street).

      The third installment of the bi-annual Sound of Dragon Music Festival will feature some of the most creative music crafted through the collaboration of Vancouver’s Chinese music community, local music-scene innovators, and special guests from Taiwan and China. The festival celebrates diverse music with Chinese roots or influences in four evening concerts at the Annex Theatre and the Roundhouse, as well as free workshops at SFU Harbour Centre and the Roundhouse.

      Performances include Turning Point Ensemble (Vancouver) and Little Giant Chinese Chamber Orchestra (Taiwan), 21 Strings Plus (Vancouver) with special guest Xian Wen Hu (China), Sound of Dragon Ensemble (Vancouver and Toronto Chinese Orchestra Chamber Players (Toronto), plus a Chinese and Celtic music jam and a workshop on Chinese landscape painting and music.

      Tickets for Sound of Dragon Music Festival are $25 for one concert/$39.99 for two concerts regular admission; $15 for one concert/$25 for two concerts for students and seniors. Tickets and info at the Sound of Dragon website.
