One of Vancouver's largest literary fairs is searching for a new executive director.

On March 28, the Vancouver Book and Magazine Fair Society announced that Rebus Creative president Bryan Pike is leaving his position as executive director of Word Vancouver after 20 years.

As a producer of the annual event, Rebus Creative helped Word Vancouver evolve into becoming one of Western Canada's leading celebrations of literature and literacy. Rebus is continuing to work with Word Vancouver and will assist in the transition to the next individual or team who will take over for this year's festival, which will take place from September 24 to 30.

Applications for the executive director position are now being accepted until April 23. Responsibilities include festival and personnel management, revenue development, marketing and outreach, and working with the board of directors.

Full details are available online at the Word Vancouver website, and proposals are being accepted from both individuals and teams.

The festival began in 1995 as Word on the Street but was rebranded as Word Vancouver in 2013.
