Latincouver, the Latin American Plaza of B.C., presents the 10th anniversary of Carnaval del Sol, the biggest Latin American festival in the Pacific Northwest. Carnaval del Sol is the peak of Latin American Week, which begins on Wednesday, June 27.

Special guests include the Soulful Chef, Dreux Antoine, who will present a culinary art workshop at the YVR Travel Plaza on Sunday, July 8, and fashion designer Tony Sequera from Mexico, who will present two fashion shows at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, July 7 and 8.

To celebrate Carnaval del Sol’s 10th year and theme, “Where we all shine together,” all attendees are encouraged to dress up in their best Latin American-themed costumes and post their photo with the hashtags #CSOL and #CSOLCOSTUME at the specially decorated photo booth. Photos will be re-posted to Carnaval del Sol’s social media networks on July 9 and 10, and the top liked photos will win prizes.

Carnaval del Sol takes place at Concord Pacific Place (88 Pacific Boulevard); Latin American Week takes place at various venues.

Admission is by $2 donation for adults and free for seniors and children 12 and under. An adult Super Pass is available for $10, as is a Special Super Pass for $90, which includes Latin American Week events. See the website for details.
