As federal election grows near, political journalist Chantal Hébert shares insights

      Join us for a Special Evening with political columnist Chantal Hébert on Tuesday, October 23, at SFU Woodwards. As a national affairs columnist with the Toronto Star and L’Actualité, Chantal is an expert on Canadian politics and we are honoured to have her share her insights with us at this bilingual event.

      Ms. Hébert is also a weekly participant on the political panel at Issue on CBC's The National, as well as on Les Coulisses du Pouvoir and the Montreal radio show Gravel le matin. Ms. Hébert first covered Parliament Hill for Radio-Canada. She subsequently served as parliamentary bureau chief for Le Devoir and La Presse. Ms. Hébert is a graduate of Glendon College, York University. She is a Senior Fellow of Massey College at the University of Toronto and holds honorary degrees from a dozen Canadian universities. She is a recipient of two Asia-Pacific media fellowships (Malaysia and Japan). In 2006, she received the Hy Solomon award for excellence in journalism and public policy as well as York University's Pinnacle Achievement Bryden Alumni award. Ms. Hébert’s second book titled The Morning After was published in September 2014. She won a 2014 National Magazine Award (gold) for her political column in L’actualité. She is an officer of the Order of Canada.
