      Are the Christmas carols and Santa suits getting to be a bit much at this time of year? Here are some shows to celebrate the season without the holiday motifs.

       

      Piano Quartet Favourites

      November 29 and 30 at West Point Grey United Church and December 2 at Pyatt Hall

      In this serene Vetta Chamber Music concert, Jane Hayes takes the keys for the likes of Gustav Mahler and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Violinist Joan Blackman, violist Yariv Aloni, and cellist Brian Yoon join her.

      Enter the wintry wonderland through a closet in the Pevensie household in this spare but sparkling adaptation of C.S. Lewis’s tale, by Ron Reed. Sarah Rodgers directs.

      At the Chan Centre for the Performing Arts on December 21 and 22
