Cirque acrobats fly high. Balloons fall from the sky. The 6th Annual Family-Friendly New Year’s Eve Variety Show, now at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre, promises to be the biggest yet. Appropriate for the whole family, this New Year’s Eve tradition includes one of the city’s largest balloon drops.
Attendees can ring in 2019 with the show’s comedic host Daniel Zindler, as well as his cast of fools who will wow the crowd with circus aerialists, extreme trampoline, magic, and juggling. The accompanying music will be performed live by the Tim Sars Orchestra, a seven-piece band featuring some of Vancouver’s most gifted local musicians.
“What sets this event apart is the flexibility it offers families. With an earlier finishing time, it gives everyone time to either head home to put their young ones to bed, or continue enjoying the atmosphere that is Downtown Vancouver on New Year’s Eve. You can catch our show, and still not miss the midnight fireworks,” says Daniel.
Founded in 2011, Vancouver Cabaret exists to connect professional Vancouver-based circus artists with an audience, enabling large ideas to take the stage, as well as to inspire the local community by presenting acclaimed work by national and international circus performers.
December 31st, 8pm, Queen Elizabeth Theatre (630 Hamilton Street).
