(Community announcement by the B.C. Choral Federation)

It was 1963 when Ward Swingle first assembled a group of Parisian session singers to sing Bach’s keyboard music. The resulting album launched the Swingle Singers to fame and set the bar for a cappella greatness.

“This group has always been way ahead of its time, bringing a cappella music to larger and more diverse audiences,” says BC Choral Federation executive director, Willi Zwozdesky. “Members have come and gone over the years, but The Swingles remain as vital as ever. The BCCF is thrilled to present them in Vancouver in the beautiful acoustics of the Chan Centre.”

Released in March 2017, The Swingles’ latest project is Folklore, a diverse collection of folk music from around the world. Their March 21 performance will feature selections from this album, alongside classics from Paul Simon, Fleetwood Mac, Peter Gabriel – and even a little Tallis and Piazzolla. Get your tickets before they're gone!

A cappella fans rejoice! The Swingles are coming to Vancouver on March 21.
