All smiles with Ed Hills new comedy album

    1 of 1 2 of 1

Ed Hill is a busy comic. When he’s not touring around Canada, Taiwan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, and the United States, then he’s home writing material for his next round of tours. Hill is no stranger to making albums with the newly released Son of Smiley being his third recording. His freshman album Canasian was recorded in his birthplace of Taipei and his second album Weirdo Whisperer was recorded in Seattle.

Being a first generation immigrant, Hill has taken his Asian-immigrant experience and turned it into comedy gold. Son of Smiley takes us on a hilarious journey through cultural observations of his real-life experiences and shares real stories from his life and relationship with his father, Smiley. The album is honest and sarcastic, but above all it is very funny.

Hill got his start in comedy when he took a comedy class in graduate school at Simon Fraser University. From there he began hustling around at open-mics and wherever he could get some stage time. Hill’s hard work has been paying off and has made appearances on AXS TV's Gotham Comedy Live, Laughs on FOX, TEDx, tweets that have been featured on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Buzzfeed, The Huffington Post, DOSE, and Distractify.

Son of Smiley was recorded over 4 performances in February of 2019 at the Havana Theatre in Vancouver, BC and released on 800 Pound Gorilla Records. The album was also produced by Juno award winning producer, Kevvy. Listen to Son of Smiley on Spotify, Tidal, Apple Music, Google Play, iTunes, Sound Cloud, Deezer, and Rhapsody.
