(Community announcement by Vancouver New Music)

This year’s festival, Resonances – transformation, mapping and sonification (October 17 – 19), brings together artists who explore practices of artistic transformation with a wide understanding of its inherent possibilities. Taking inspiration from predecessors, or mining non-sound related data and information, these artists trace paths through sound and performance that diverge into new forms, expressions and ideas.

VNM Artistic Director Giorgio Magnanensi notes “this year’s festival offers a variety of artistic work emerging from different embodied forms of resonance. The investigation of these compositional forms and sound thinking processes creates environments where we can immerse ourselves in ever-changing perceptual flows.”

Featuring: airborne extended, Linda Bouchard, chdh, Sammy Chien, Elvira Hufschmid & Vancouver Electronic Ensemble, Interspecifics, Kite, Brady Marks, Atau Tanaka and Nicolas Teichrob
