Corey Payette's residential-school musical Children of God continues to collect accolades.

The Segal Centre for Performing Arts, which coproduced the show there with Vancouver's Urban Ink Productions, earned the nomination for a Montreal Arts Council Grand Prix.

The show joins eight finalists for the 35th annual prize, which recognizes the excellence of creators from Montreal, and will be handed out in that city on March 19.

Each finalist receives a $5,000 cash award, and the winner will get $30,000 and an artwork by a Montreal artist.

After a couple years of touring, Children of God returned to Vancouver and its York Theatre last February as part of the Talking Stick Festival.

The Segal Centre presents English-language theatre in Montreal.
