Oren Ambarchi’s works are hesitant and tense extended songforms, located in the cracks between several schools of sound-thinking: from modern electronics and processing; to laminal improvisation and minimalism; to the physicality of rock music – slowed down and stripped back to its bare bones, abstracted and replaced with pure signal. Ambarchi’s solo guitar set will draw from his most recent LP, Simian Angel (2019), a collaboration with legendary Brazilian percussionist Cyro Baptista, released by Editions Mego.

crys cole’s practice spans composition, performance and sound installation.

Generating subtle and imperfect sounds through haptic gestures and seemingly mundane materials. She creates texturally nuanced works that continuously retune the ear. Her performance will take the form of episodic electroacoustic works that incorporate field recordings and electronics with live objects and instrumentation.

cole’s new solo LP, Beside myself, will be out at the end of February on US label Students of Decay.

      Oren Ambarchi.
