The latest major arts institutions have announced closures in the wake of COVID-19 fears.

The Museum of Anthropology at UBC will be temporarily closing to the public, effective Tuesday (March 17) until April 7. This includes all tours, public programs and events, and school programs.

"While there have been no presumptive or confirmed cases of COV-19 at MOA, or at the University of British Columbia, and public risk in Canada remains low, this decision has been made out of an abundance of caution, as we strive to be part of the local solution to this global situation," MOA said in a press statement today.

Meanwhile, Whistler's Audain Art Museum has announced it will be closed until further notice.

It has also postponed its Illuminate Gala and Auction until September 2020.

And Arts Umbrella has now cancelled all of its spring break programs due to the evolving situation with the virus. Arts Umbrella staff will also be working from home.
