Photographer Christopher Edmonstone has just won the Georgia Straight People's Choice Award as part of the Capture Photography Festival's Captured in Transit Competition.

Over the course of the festival, the public voted for its favourite submission online, and it went for Edmonstone's serene colour images of such subjects as a fisherman throwing his net out gracefully over the water, or monks' bare feet walking up temple stairs.

The winner will receive professionally printed and framed prints of their images and a prize pack from the Straight.

Edmonstone created his four entry photos on a four-month sojourn to capture images in Southeast Asia, focusing on traditional ways of life in a changing technological age.
