She was one of the youngest winners of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions and recently finished her tenure as a member of the prestigious Canadian Opera Company’s Studio Ensemble. In the past year alone, she’s travelled to a dozen countries, premiering at Carnegie Hall and debuting with the L.A. Philharmonic during that time. Now rising soprano Simone Osborne is ready to bring her gleaming voice home, appearing with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra on Saturday and Sunday  (March 1 and 2) in a program that includes Ludwig van Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 and the romantic songs of Richard Strauss. See why we tabbed her as “Who to Watch” in our 2008 Fall Arts Preview. Hey, we know how to pick ’em.
