If you’ve ever tried snapping an Insta-worthy pic at an art exhibit, only to have passersby completely ruin your shot, you’ll want to hit up the Museum of Vancouver tomorrow.

As part of the lead-up to Canada’s 150th birthday next year, the museum is partnering with Instagram to host #EmptyMuseumofVan on Wednesday (February 17), which will offer avid Instagrammers the chance to photograph the gallery and its current exhibit, Your Future Home: Creating the New Vancouver, in quiet seclusion prior to its regular hours of operation.

Interested ‘grammers must register their names at the Museum of Vancouver tomorrow morning at 8:30 a.m. Brief remarks will be delivered by City of Vancouver councillor, Heather Deal, before self-guided tours and photograph opportunities commence at 8:50 a.m. The event closes at 10 a.m., when the museum opens to the public for the day.

The images captured and uploaded to Instagram with the tag #EmptyMuseumofVan may later be used in a special photograph exhibit curated by Instagram to showcase the beauty of Canada in the #Roadto2017.

Established during the 100th anniversary of Canadian Confederation and previously named the Centennial Museum, the Museum of Vancouver is one of a handful of Canadian landmark institutions selected to participate in the project.

The Louvre Museum in Paris and the Guggenheim Museum in New York have hosted similar #Empty events in the past.
