SFU Woodward’s Cultural Programs and 149 Arts Society just announced the call to Vancouver artists for the 2016 LAUNCH! Festival.

The fourth annual festival for emerging, professional artists, is looking for new performance works of eight minutes or less that push conventional boundaries. This includes areas of performance such as dance, music, spoken word, theatre, or new forms, as well as media and film in fiction, documentary, or experimental.

Artists selected for the festival will be paid to perform in the cabaret-style showcase. Professionals and industry mentors will be present to provide feedback as well as to take part in a day-long career building workshop following the festival, an opportunity open to anyone who applies.

Applications are due May 24. The festival showcase will be June 17 with the workshop on June 18.
