Artists participating in the first-ever Vancouver Mural Festival are nearly finished: in just two days, 100,000 people are expected to take to Main Street to take in the city's newest public artworks.

Among them are murals located at the Arts Factory (281 Industrial Avenue), 49th Parallel Coffee Roasters (2902 Main Street), Kafka's (2525 Main Street), and more.

On Tuesday, festival organizers took a drive through Mount Pleasant to find out just how close the 40-plus murals in the neighbourhood are to being finished.

By Saturday (August 20), more than 20 buildings in the area will look a whole lot different than they used to.

Watch below for timelapse footage of murals in progress.
