Barbara-Jo’s Books to Cooks will close its doors at the end of February.

The Armoury District bookshop first opened in Yaletown in 1997, before relocating to its current location at 1740 West 2nd Avenue in 2005.

It is known for selling various types of cookbooks, offering cooking classes, and hosting gourmet culinary events.

Owner Barbara-Jo McIntosh wrote in a press statement that she will explore new ideas related to cooking and books and will maintain her online website to keep followers posted on her future endeavours.

Books to Cooks will offer its final book sale beginning today, with discounts that range from 25 to 40 percent off. The brick-and-mortar shop’s furnishings (piano, tables, et cetera) will also be available for purchase.
