From November 24 to 26, Action at a Distance takes over the Fei and Milton Wong Experimental Theatre (149 West Hastings Street).

Presented by DanceHouse, SFU Woodward's Cultural Programs, and SFU's School for the Contemporary Arts, the local dance company will present the world premiere of Wells Hill in celebration of Canada's 150th anniversary.

Wells Hill features seven dancers who splice together themes of technology and communication in a new work based on the sweeping philosophies of Canadians Marshall McLuhan and Glenn Gould.

The production features the talents of choreographer and Action at a Distance artistic director Vanessa Goodman alongside composers Loscil and Gabriel Saloman, lighting designer James Proudfoot, and projection artists Ben Didier and Milton Lim.

Dance fans can also take in a roundtable discussion of Marshall McLuhan and The Global Village (November 21, SFU Goldcorp Centre for the Arts), pre- and post-show chats (Nov 24 to 26, SFU Goldcorp Centre for the Arts), and a post-show social gathering (November 24, SFU Goldcorp Centre for the Arts).

Tickets for Action at a Distance are available online or by calling 604-801-6225.
