From December 6 to 10, Some Assembly Theatre Company presents How Star Wars Saved My Life at Performance Works (1218 Cartwright Street, Granville Island).

Writer-performer Nicholas Harrison's one-man play uses the power of Star Wars to reveal how the films helped him to cope with childhood sexual and physical abuse from priests.

How Star Wars Saved My Life sees the playwright take on the role of a Jedi and escape into a world of healing and inspiration with a faithful droid as a companion.

With Valerie Methot's direction, the play confronts the issues around abuse and reinforces the idea that victims are not responsible for the abuse they endure.

You can get all the latest info through the production's Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts.

Tickets for How Star Wars Saved My Life are available online.
