Join Vancouver’s beloved and longest-lived gospel choir—Universal Gospel Choir  (UGC)—as they perform their Yuletide concert Peace on Earth, December 9th at 3:00pm at the famed Queen Elizabeth Theatre.

With energizing and invigorating musical selections, pieces that tug at the heartstrings, surprising pop songs, and of course what the choir is best known for—feet stomping soul—this concert will surely be unforgettable.

This year, the choir will be relocating to Vancouver’s Queen Elizabeth Theatre. When asked why the change in location Choir Director Lonnie Delisle says, “Beyond the fact that our 70-voice choir is growing too big for our regular venue [Canadian Memorial United Church], when we had the opportunity to perform on the stage at the magnificent Queen Elizabeth Theatre the choir members faces lit up—it was pretty awesome to see their excitement. This is the realization of many dreams.”

“Queen Elizabeth Theatre will provide our audiences with great sight lines, exceptional sound, lighting and a more comfortable concert experience for both our audience and choir. And having all of our fans under one roof will be amazing as everyone will be together—something we are super-jazzed about, pardon the pun.”

The choir is starting to prepare for Peace on Earth, their annual Yule concerts which sell out early every year. Delisle notes that the concert will be bigger and better than ever with musical selections that will take audiences on an emotional journey—not to mention energizing and invigorating arrangements, and pieces that touch the heartstrings.

Says Delisle, “I think what really makes UGC unique and our concerts fun is how diverse our choir members are and the resulting opportunities we have when choosing and performing our musical selections. We get to perform everything and anything - with our own twist on it of course.”

Joining UGC on stage at Peace on Earth will be Vancouver’s Showstoppers - an energetic troupe of young singers and dancers
