From December 7 to 24, A Christmas Carol takes the stage at the Gateway Theatre (6500 Gilbert Road, Richmond).

Based on the 1844 novella by Charles Dickens, A Christmas Carol tells the story of a miser who is visited by three supernatural beings on Christmas Eve and is inspired to change his ways. Since its publication, the holiday classic has been turned into films, operas, ballets, and Broadway musicals.

The Gateway Theatre production was adapted by Michael Shamata and is directed by Rachel Peake. Russell Roberts stars as Ebeneezer Scrooge, alongside the acting talents of fellow cast members Allan Morgan, Adam Olgui, Linda Quibell, and Teo Saefkow.

With live musical performances and a fresh interpretation, the Gateway Theatre production breathes new life into the tale inspired by the blunt reality of childhood poverty in Dickensian England.
