A Something Extra Productions has announced that it will stream the filmed version of its 2018 production, Pageant: A Musical Comedy Beauty Contest, on August 11, 18, and 25.

Christopher Shyer-Johnson produces and directs Pageant, which is described as "a regendered 21st century makeover" of the all-American beauty contest.

"After 2018’s successful (but too short) run in Vancouver," reads the event info, "the Kay Meek Arts Centre is proud to revive the musical comedy—in which six contestants compete for the vaunted title of Miss Glamouresse.

"The twist? Our enchanting competitors are played by male-identifying actors, striving to outpoise each other as eye-candy and spokesmodels across a range of categories (including swimwear), as they vie for the diamond tiara under the paternal gaze of our host and compere, Frankie Cavalier."

The role of Cavalier is played by Rachel Hayward from Disney’s Turner & Hooch, who is joined in the musical romp by Jacob Wokie (Miss Bible Belt), Derry Oshust (Miss Great Plains), Matheus Severo (Miss Industrial North East ), Nick Rose (Miss Deep South), Marco Walker-Ng (Miss Texas), and Nic Walter (Miss West Coast).

Tickets for the online streamings, which take place at 3 and 7:30 p.m. Pacific time, are priced at $25 and $22, and you can find them here.
